So it begins.

Our story begins in 1987, when Eduardo Cuadros, founder of the company, animal science engineer, specialized in Animal Production and, with a Master in Tropical Pastures, imports for the first time forage grass from Brazil, to fulfill the needs of feeding cattle in the tropical areas of Peru. A few years went by, and Eduardo noticed the urgency of finding a solution to recover soils degraded by forage grass and livestock industry. So, moved by his love for the jungle he decided to incorporate legumes into his commercial activities. That is when SAIU, in 1995, actually came into existence. It began with the ideal of its founders, Eduardo and his wife, Augusta Leveau, who dreamed of finding a “seed”, the origin point of soil recovery, THAT solution to the migrating agriculture, the “slash and burning” of forests for livestock and the indiscriminate use of chemicals in the soil. They moved into the Ucayali jungle, where they started all over again, working with local communities to collect and produce together LEGUMES SEEDS, a new solution for our planet, a new life for our family and a new resource to these communities. It has been a long time since then, and throughout the years, we learnt a lot, we grew as a family business, with our father’s knowledge and will, our mother’s wisdom and intuition, with the new ideas of their children and the support of local communities who rely on us every harvest season.
